Heryan t maloney Everyone today im here with Ryan T Malone a amazing SEO expert and a Social Media Marketing Pro. Today he will be sharing with us some advice on the best social platforms, on page and off page factors, and the best SEO products.

1) Hey Ryan thanks for having this interview with us. To start things off could you tell us a little bit about what RyanTMalone.com is, and what motivated you to start it?

http://www.ryantmalone.com is just another one of my channels, but more personalized, and really my main outlet for connecting with others. Along with SEO and Social Media, I have a lot of other interests, some that I am using now to develop my main business, however I’ve learned a lot along the way, and worked with some great people. All that this blog really is, is a simple way to share with people what it is that I have learned, how I have put it into practice, and a god way for people to connect with me one on one.

2) As you were developing your site was there anyone you looked to for inspiration or guidance?

In my earlier days, I looked up to a lot of people such as Frank Kern, John Reese, and so on and so forth, however never really got the whole idea of “learning SEO for yourself (ie, learning a style that fits your business) until by chance I met up with David Jenyns (Melbourne SEO Services and The SEO Method). Me and David speak weekly, and I pick up a few odd jobs from him here and there, and along the way, he has become someone who has ultimately shaped the way I approach new ideas, and the way that I develop strategies for SEO and business building.

3) If a new blogger were to approach you today and ask you to give them only one piece of advice what would it be?

Tough question, because there is no one universal piece of advice that will help all bloggers achieve the one goal. I would honestly say that the most universal piece of advice is to have a solid plan in action with every new venture, whether it be a blog a product, or a business. Make sure that your keywords are winnable based on your skill set and your resources, and always go for a win in the long tail before going for your main keyword.

4) I to agree that choosing the right keywords can get a new blogger far. With all the social platforms out there, which do you think is the most effective when building a relationship with your user?

For a startup, it is imperative to get on Twitter with a keyword rich, and relative username in comparison to your domain name. If you are feeding your content into Twitter, you will easily gain traffic, and you can also interact with your followers whilst giving the same advice to others. I do recommend using Seesmic or Tweet Deck for Twitter interactions, and asking at least one or two good questions each day to your followers that you answer in more detail on your blog. Also, avoid controversy if your niche is sensitive to controversy.

5)Thats some great advice! Now, If you were given $100 dollars to start-up a website how and where would you spend it?

100$ can go an extremely long way. For one, you can start a website using WordPress for next to nothing (keeping hosting in mind), and I wouldn’t recommend any spending on the site until the site is at least 30 days old. If you are set on your keywords, I would honestly invest that 100$ in getting a good keyword rich domain name, and the remainder in unique articles from Need An Article or from a private outsourcer to manually publish on Ezine Articles and at least 3 other directories. This would give permanent one way backlinks to your website using your chosen anchor text, and would improve sustainable rankings.

6) If you could recommend one SEO product what would it be?

There are actually two that I can recommend. First one is the Thesis theme for WordPress. I am currently using this on one of my new projects, and it is the most heavily customizable WordPress theme that I have ever used, along with having superior SEO functions such as meta titles, descriptions, keywords, and alt text built in as a function. Its a little under a hundred dollars, but the best investment that you will ever make for a WordPress blog. Second, there is a method that I learned, and it applies to every single niche out there. Its called The SEO Method, and it is by my mentor David Jenyns. For anyone who is struggling to get an idea of how to earn backlinks, and struggling to get a grasp of how they can interact with their viewers and followers, this method really hits the nail on the head. I am actually goint to Davids workshop on this method in April this year, for anyone in Melbourne who wants to learn more about SEO, this is a great method to learn.

7) What do you think is the more important aspect of SEO on page factors or off page factors?

Both on and off page really feed each other. Off page will see your site indexed, however on page will really determine how deep that indexing goes, and will determine relevancy when you find your URL in the search engines. For on page SEO, making sure that there is a path of links that are crawlable using keyword rich anchor text to the deepest pages on your website is very important, and just as important as making sure that the pages are keyword rich. With off page SEO, a lot of people completely forget the importance of varying your link types. (anchor text VS non anchor text). If all backlinks appear to be similar, then this does not appear natural to Google, therefor you may not rank as well. Having said that, I believe that the most important off page factor is going for a wide variety of backlinks from different sources, and to vary the format of those backlinks.

8) As we finish up this interview is there anything personal you would like to share or if your having any upcoming business plans?

At the moment, I am working on a new concept called “See Bright Victoria”, which is an information based site for the localized area of Bright in Victoria (Australia). Having cleared that out of the way, the only thing that I can really advise as having huge importance present day (relating to my current project) is the potential that lies within localization. Most people focus on a global audience, and whilst this is a tough audience to attract, going local is currently the biggest bang for buck at the moment, and something that I highly recommend that a lot of people look further into.

Thanks for the interview Ryan I appreciate all the time spent coming down to webnicheideas.com and sharing all this great advice.
